RURAL ASSISTANCE ACT 1989 - SCHEDULE 2

SCHEDULE 2 – Provisions relating to Chief Executive

(Section 11 (2))

1 Definition

In this Schedule, "Chief Executive" means the Chief Executive of the Authority.

1A Employment of Chief Executive

The employment of the Chief Executive is subject to Part 2A of the Public Sector Management Act 1988 , but is not subject to Part 2 of that Act.

3 Acting Chief Executive

(1) The Minister may, from time to time, appoint a person to act in the office of Chief Executive during the illness or absence of the Chief Executive, and the person, while so acting, has all the functions of the Chief Executive and shall be taken to be the Chief Executive.
(2) The Minister may, at any time, remove any person from an office to which the person was appointed under this clause.
(3) A person while acting in the office of Chief Executive is entitled to be paid such remuneration (including travelling and subsistence allowances) as the Minister may from time to time determine in respect of the person.
(4) For the purposes of this clause, a vacancy in the office of Chief Executive shall be regarded as an absence from office of the Chief Executive.
