Parties to inquiries
8E Parties to inquiries
(1) At an inquiry, any person may apply to the Tribunal to be made a party to
the inquiry.
(2) If, on the making of an application referred to in
subsection (1), the Tribunal is of the opinion that the applicant has a
substantial interest in the matter that is the subject of the inquiry, the
Tribunal shall grant the application but, if the Tribunal is not so satisfied,
it shall refuse the application.
(3) A party to an inquiry may appear in
person or by his or her agent or Australian legal practitioner.
(4) A party
to an inquiry is entitled to give evidence, or call witnesses to give
evidence, and to make submissions to the Tribunal, in relation to the matter
that is the subject of the inquiry.
