Registration necessary for certain representations
7 Registration necessary for certain representations
(1) A person who is not a registered pharmacist must not indicate that the
person practises pharmacy or is qualified to practise pharmacy. Maximum
penalty: 50 penalty units.
(2) Without limiting the ways in which a person
may be taken to have indicated that the person practises pharmacy or that the
person is qualified to practise pharmacy, a person is taken to have so
indicated if the person uses: (a) the title of “chemist” or any other
title or name, initials, word, symbol or description that (having regard to
the circumstances in which it is used) indicates, or is capable of being
understood to indicate, or is calculated to lead a person to infer, that the
person is qualified to practise pharmacy or that the person practises
pharmacy, or
(b) the title of “apothecary”, “compounding chemist”,
“dispensing chemist”, “dispensing druggist”, “druggist”,
“homoeopathic chemist”, “pharmaceutical chemist”, “pharmaceutist”
or “pharmacist”.
