PARLIAMENTARY CONTRIBUTORY SUPERANNUATION ACT 1971 - SECT 25
Termination or suspension of pension if recipient becomes a member of Parliament
25 Termination or suspension of pension if recipient becomes a member of
Parliament
(1) If a person who is receiving or is entitled to receive a pension under
this Part in respect of his or her service as a member, or in respect of whom
payment of a pension has been deferred under this Part, again becomes a member
his or her right to that pension shall cease.
(2) If a person who is
receiving or is entitled to receive a pension under this Part, or in respect
of whom payment of a pension has been deferred under this Part: (a) becomes a
member of the Parliament of the Commonwealth or of any other State, or
(b)
becomes a member (not being a person to whom subsection (1) applies),
the
right of that person to receive a pension under this Part shall be suspended
while that person continues to be such a member.
