Functions of the Board
86 Functions of the Board
(1) The Board has the following functions: (a) such functions as are conferred
or imposed on the Board by or under this or any other Act,
(b) to promote and
maintain standards of psychology practice in New South Wales,
(c) to advise
the Minister on matters relating to the registration of psychologists,
standards of psychology practice and any other matter arising under or related
to this Act or the regulations,
(d) to publish and distribute information
concerning this Act and the regulations to psychologists, consumers and other
interested persons.
(2) The Board may issue guidelines with respect to
continuing professional development for psychologists.
(3) The Board is to
exercise its functions in a manner that is consistent with the object of this
Act.
(4) The Board cannot employ any staff. Note: Staff may be employed under
Chapter 1A of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 in the
Government Service to enable the Board to exercise its functions.
