PETROLEUM (ONSHORE) ACT 1991 - SECT 136
Other offences
136 Other offences
(1) A person who assaults, hinders or obstructs: (a) any person duly
authorised by any mining appeal court in lawfully entering on any land or in
performing any other act authorised by or under this Act, or
(b) any officer,
inspector, geologist or other person in the performance of any act or duty or
in the exercise of his or her powers under this Act or the regulations,
is
guilty of an offence. Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units.
(2) A person who
contravenes: (a) any conditions subject to which any exemption, suspension or
consent is granted under this Act or the regulations, or
(b) any directions
or requirements which may be given to or made of the person by notice or
otherwise under this Act or the regulations,
is guilty of an offence. Maximum
penalty: 100 penalty units.
(3) A landholder of any land or any other person
who: (a) obstructs any person prospecting or mining for petroleum in the doing
of any act which the person is by or under this Act authorised to do on any
such land, or
(b) interferes with, removes, destroys or defaces any notice
required by this Act or the regulations to be placed on any land,
is guilty of
an offence. Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units.
