OMBUDSMAN ACT 1974 - SECT 13AA
Preliminary inquiries
13AA Preliminary inquiries
(1) The Ombudsman may make preliminary inquiries for the purpose of deciding
whether to make particular conduct of a public authority the subject of an
investigation under this Act.
(2) The inquiries may be made whether or not
any person has complained to the Ombudsman about the conduct under section 12.
(3) If a complaint has been made under section 12 (whether in writing or
otherwise), the Ombudsman may, by way of a preliminary inquiry with respect to
the complaint, require the complainant to provide further written particulars
of the complaint within the time specified by the Ombudsman.
