8 Dedication as Crown reserves under Crown Lands Act 1989 of certain former
State forests, Crown land and other land
(1) The lands described in Schedule 4 are taken to be lands dedicated under
the Crown Lands Act 1989 for the purposes of public recreation, conservation
and mineral and petroleum exploration.
(2) The Crown Lands Act 1989 applies
to and in respect of the lands described in Schedule 4, except as provided by
this Act.
(3) The National Parks and Wildlife Reserve Trust established under
section 9 of the Forestry and National Park Estate Act 1998 is appointed as
trustee of the reserve consisting of all of the land described in Schedule 4.
(4) The Director-General of National Parks and Wildlife is appointed to manage
the affairs of the reserve trust.
(5) Nothing in this section prevents any
land described in Schedule 4 from being reserved, dedicated or acquired under
the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 .
(6) Any timber reserves (within
the meaning of the Forestry Act 1916 ) with respect to land described in
Schedule 4 are revoked by this Act, but only to the extent to which they
relate to timber reserves or parts of timber reserves situated within those
lands.
