Impersonating, assaulting, resisting or obstructing an officer etc
169 Impersonating, assaulting, resisting or obstructing an officer etc
(1) A person shall not impersonate the Secretary, any other
officer of the Service, an ex-officio ranger or honorary ranger.
(2) A person
shall not-- (a) assault, threaten, resist, delay, hinder, obstruct or use
abusive language to, or
(b) incite or encourage any other person to assault,
threaten, resist, delay, hinder, obstruct or use abusive language to,
the
Secretary, any other officer of the Service, an ex-officio ranger or
honorary ranger, in the exercise of any of his or her powers, authorities,
duties or functions under this Act or the regulations, the Wilderness Act 1987
or regulations under that Act or the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995
or the regulations under that Act. : Maximum penalty--200 penalty units or 3
months imprisonment, or both.
(3) Without affecting the generality of
subsection (2) (a), a person shall not, upon a request for information or
other reasonable assistance being made by the Secretary, any other
officer of the Service, an ex-officio ranger or honorary ranger in the
exercise of any powers, authorities, duties or functions under this Act or the
regulations, the Wilderness Act 1987 or regulations under that Act or the
Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 or the regulations under that Act,
refuse to give the information or other assistance requested or knowingly give
any information that is false or misleading in a material particular.
(4) A
person shall not incite or encourage another person to contravene subsection
(3).
