NON-INDIGENOUS ANIMALS ACT 1987 - SECT 11
Keeping of animals
(1) A person who, otherwise than under the authority of a licence and in
accordance with any conditions attached to it, takes charge of or keeps an
animal belonging to a higher-risk category is guilty of an offence and liable
to a penalty not exceeding 100 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months, or
both.
(2) A person who, otherwise than under the authority of a licence and
in accordance with any conditions attached to it, takes charge of or keeps an
animal belonging to a lower-risk category is guilty of an offence and liable
to a penalty not exceeding 20 penalty units.
