MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIRS ACT 1980 - SECT 18A
Grant of approval for licence
18A Grant of approval for licence
(1) If the Authority would, but for the inability of the applicant or
applicants for a licence to satisfy the Authority as to any matter relating to
a proposed place of business, grant the licence, the Authority may defer
consideration of the application and grant the applicant or applicants
approval for the licence in the form determined by the Authority.
(2) An
approval for a licence does not authorise the person to whom the approval is
granted to carry on business pursuant to the authority that would be conferred
by the licence applied for by the applicant if that licence were granted.
(3)
An approval for a licence remains in force for such period as is specified in
the approval.
(4) If, during the period an approval is in force, the
applicant satisfies the Authority: (a) as to the matter referred to in
subsection (1), and
(b) that no change material to the applicant’s
application for the licence has occurred since the application was last
considered by the Authority,
the Authority is to grant the application.
