(1) The owner of a motor vehicle shall, if and when required so to do by any
member of the police force or by any officer authorised in that behalf by the
Commissioner or by any other person whomsoever who has reasonable grounds for
so requiring, forthwith give information (which shall, if so required, be in
writing) as to whether or not the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle.
(2) The driver of a motor vehicle shall, if and when required so to do by any
member of the police force or by any officer authorised in that behalf by the
Commissioner or by any other person whomsoever who has reasonable grounds for
so requiring, forthwith give information (which shall, if so required, be in
writing) as to the name and place of abode of the owner of the motor vehicle.
(3) Any owner or driver of a motor vehicle who neglects or fails to comply
with the requirements of this section or who, in complying with such
requirements, gives any false or misleading information, shall be guilty of an
offence against this Act.
