Court may order settlement
55 Court may order settlement
(1) Whenever the Court pronounces a decree of dissolution of marriage or
judicial separation for the adultery of the wife and the wife is entitled to
any property either in possession or reversion the Court may if it thinks fit
order a reasonable settlement to be made of such property or any part thereof
for the benefit of the innocent party and of the children of the marriage or
either or any of them.
(2) Any instrument executed pursuant to any order of
the Court at the time of or after the pronouncing of a final decree of
dissolution of marriage or judicial separation shall be deemed valid and
effectual in law notwithstanding the existence of the disability of coverture
at the time of the execution thereof.
