LEGAL PROFESSION ACT 2004 - SECT 63
Other ways of amending or cancelling local practising certificate
(1) The
appropriate Council may amend or cancel a local practising certificate if the
holder requests the appropriate Council to do so.
(2) The appropriate Council
may amend a local practising certificate: (a) for a formal or clerical reason,
or
(b) in another way that does not adversely affect the holder’s
interests.
(3) The appropriate Council must cancel a
local practising certificate if the holder’s name has been removed from the
local roll or the holder ceases to be an Australian lawyer.
(4) The amendment
or cancellation of a local practising certificate under this section is
effected by written notice given to the holder.
(5) Section 61 (Amending,
suspending or cancelling local practising certificate) does not apply in a
case to which this section applies.
