LEGAL PROFESSION ACT 2004 - SECT 41
Local practising certificates
(1) Practising certificates may be granted
under this Part.
(2) The Bar Council may, on application, grant a practising
certificate to an Australian lawyer authorising the lawyer to practise as a
barrister.
(3) The Law Society Council may, on application, grant a
practising certificate to an Australian lawyer authorising the lawyer to
practise as a solicitor and barrister.
(4) It is a statutory condition of a
local practising certificate that the holder must not hold another
local practising certificate, or an interstate practising certificate, that is
in force during the currency of the first-mentioned
local practising certificate.
