LEGAL PROFESSION ACT 2004 - SECT 37
Consideration of applicant’s eligibility and suitability
37 Consideration of applicant’s eligibility and suitability
(1) To help it
consider whether or not an applicant is eligible for admission or is a fit and
proper person to be admitted, the Admission Board may, by notice to the
applicant, require: (a) the applicant to give it specified documents or
information, or
(b) the applicant to co-operate with any inquiries by the
Board that it considers appropriate.
(2) An applicant’s failure to comply
with a notice under subsection (1) by the date specified in the notice and in
the way required by the notice is a ground for refusing to approve the
applicant as a suitable candidate for admission.
(3) The Admission Board may
refer a matter to the Supreme Court for directions.
