LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CITY OF SYDNEY BOUNDARIES) ACT 1967 - SECT 27
Payments by Commissioners to transferee councils
(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Principal Act or in any other
Act, at any time after the appointed day but before the day fixed, pursuant to
this Act, for the election of aldermen to the Council of the Municipality of
Northcott, or, pursuant to the Principal Act for the ordinary election of
aldermen to the Councils of the Municipalities of Leichhardt, Marrickville and
Woollahra held next after the appointed day, the Minister may, from time to
time and subject to such terms and conditions (including such terms and
conditions as to repayment as he deems fit) direct, in writing, the
Commissioners to pay to the Council of the Municipality of Northcott,
Leichhardt, Marrickville or Woollahra from the General Fund of the Council of
the City of Sydney such moneys as the Minister considers necessary for the
carrying out by the respective councils of the powers, authorities, duties and
functions conferred and imposed upon those councils in respect of the lands
which, under this Act, have been constituted as a municipality or added to
their areas, as the case may be.
(2) The Commissioners shall make any
payments as directed by the Minister pursuant to subsection one of this
section, and any council to whom any such payment is made shall comply with
the terms and conditions subject to which the direction for the payment was
given.
