Ancillary matters concerning reports
24 Ancillary matters concerning reports
(1) A report prepared under this
Part must not include any information that, if made public, could reasonably
be expected: (a) to endanger the health or safety of any person, or
(b) to
disclose the methodology used in any investigation (whether or not an
authorised operation) that is being, has been or is proposed to be conducted
by any law enforcement agency, or
(c) to prejudice any investigation (whether
or not an authorised operation) that is being or is proposed to be conducted
by a law enforcement agency, or
(d) to prejudice any legal proceedings
arising from any such investigation.
(2) Sections 30 (2) and 31AA of the
Ombudsman Act 1974 apply to a report prepared under this Part in the same way
as they apply to an annual report prepared under section 30 of that Act.
(3)
The Ombudsman must give a copy of any report prepared under this Part to the
chief executive officer of the law enforcement agency to which the report
relates and to the Minister responsible for that agency.
