Imperial enactments repealed
8 Imperial enactments repealed
(1) In addition to the repeals effected by subsection two of section five of
this Act all other Imperial enactments (commencing with the Statute of Merton,
20 Henry III A.D. 1235-6) in force in England at the time of the passing of
the Imperial Act 9 George IV Chapter 83 are so far as they are in force in New
South Wales hereby repealed.
(2) The repeal of the Imperial Act 7 George II
Chapter 8 (Sir John Barnard’s Act) effected by subsection one of this
section shall be deemed to have taken effect as on and from the fourteenth day
of June one thousand eight hundred and sixty:
Provided that nothing in this subsection shall affect any transaction in
respect of which proceedings in any Court have been taken or commenced on or
before the twenty-fifth day of July one thousand nine hundred and sixty-eight.
