New South Wales Consolidated ActsFor the purposes of this Act:
"Inebriate" means a person who habitually uses intoxicating liquor or
intoxicating or narcotic drugs to excess.
"Institution" means a place licensed under this Act or established by the
Government for the reception, control, and treatment of inebriates.
"Narcotic drug" does not include tobacco, cigars, or cigarettes.
"Spouse" means:
(a) a husband or wife, or
(b) a de facto partner,but where more than one person would so qualify as a spouse, means only the last person so to qualify.
Note: “De facto partner” is defined in section 21C of the Interpretation Act 1987 ."State institution" means institution established by the Government as aforesaid.
