(1) A visiting medical officer or honorary medical officer must not be appointed unless the terms and conditions to which the officer is to be subject are in the form of a written service contract between--(a) the officer (or the officer's practice company), and(b) the relevant public health organisation.
(2) An appointment made in contravention of this section is void.
