171A Procedure for inquiry [NSW[#93]
(1) Subject to this section, the
Committee may conduct proceedings on the inquiry as it thinks fit.
(2)
Proceedings of the Committee are to be open to the public unless the Committee
directs otherwise.
(3) The Committee is not to direct that proceedings are to
be closed to the public unless satisfied it is desirable to do so in the
public interest because of--
(a) the subject-matter of the inquiry; or
(b)
the nature of the evidence to be given.
(4) The Committee may be assisted by
an Australian lawyer appointed, at the request of the Committee, by the
Executive Officer of the Council.
