GOVERNMENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT 1991 - SECT 49

49 Purpose of Part

(1) The purpose of this Part is to enable Government agencies to obtain the best commercial advantage from any infrastructure or facilities required by the operators of the public telecommunications networks and other licensees.

(2) The powers conferred by this Part on a Government agency are not limited to furthering the main business or activity of that agency.
