GOVERNMENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT 1991 - SECT 37

37 General functions of the Authority

(1) The Authority has the functions conferred or imposed on the Authority by or under this or any other Act.

(2) The Authority may do all such things as are supplemental or incidental to the exercise of its functions and, in particular, to the control, management and operation of the Government telecommunications network.

(3) However, the Authority cannot employ any staff.

Note: Staff may be employed under Chapter 1A of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 in the Government Service to enable the Authority to exercise its functions.
