GAMING MACHINES ACT 2001 - SECT 42
General provisions
42 General provisions
(1) Nothing in this Division requires a hotelier or registered club, during
any period in which approved gaming machines are not to be operated for the
purposes of gambling in accordance with this Division, to close off to the
patrons of the hotel or the premises of the club any area of the hotel or the
premises of the club in which approved gaming machines are located.
(2) This
Division does not affect the operation of the Liquor Act 2007 , or of any
other Act or law, in relation to the hours during which a hotel or
registered club is authorised to trade.
(3) An approval by the Authority
under this Division: (a) is to be in writing, and
(b) is subject to such
conditions as the Authority thinks fit to impose, and
(c) may be revoked at
any time by the Authority for such reasons as the Authority thinks fit.
(4)
In this Division:
"public holiday" means a bank or public holiday under the Banks and Bank
Holidays Act 1912 that is observed throughout the State, but does not include
a Saturday or a Sunday or 1 August (or such other day that is a bank holiday
instead of 1 August).
