(1) A community benefit requirement cannot be wholly or partly satisfied by a
payment of money except a payment to the Secretary under the
Casino Control Act 1992for payment into the Responsible Gambling Fund as a
"community benefit payment" under this Act.
Note : Section 115B of the Casino
Control Act 1992 provides that a payment under this Act into the Responsible
Gambling Fund is to be applied for such purposes as the Minister determines
for the benefit of local communities in which gaming machine thresholds for
venues have increased.
(3) In this section,
"community benefit requirement" means a requirement under section 36 that a
proposed increase in the gaming machine threshold for a venue will--
(a)
provide a positive contribution towards the local community where the venue is
situated, or
(b) have an overall positive impact on the local community where
the venue is situated.
