FAIR TRADING ACT 1987 - SECT 23I
Compliance with embargo notices
(1) A person must not knowingly cause or permit anything to be done in
contravention of an embargo notice. Maximum penalty: (a) in the case of a
person other than a body corporate-40 penalty units, or
(b) in the case of a
body corporate-200 penalty units.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply in
relation to: (a) an act done in accordance with a consent given under section
23H, or
(b) if the embargo notice relates to consumer goods or equipment, an
act done for the purpose of protecting or preserving the consumer goods or
equipment.
