New South Wales Consolidated Acts New South Wales Consolidated ActsUnless the contrary intention appears and subject to the regulations, a reference in an Act (other than this Act) or a statutory instrument to a friendly society has effect, on and after the transfer date, as reference to:
(a) a body that, immediately before the transfer date, was a society within the meaning of the Friendly Societies Code, or
(b) a body that is a friendly society for the purposes of the Life Insurance Act 1995 of the Commonwealth.
