FIRE BRIGADES ACT 1989 - SECT 69
Appointment etc of fire fighters
(1) The Commissioner may appoint such persons as may be necessary to provide
the members of fire brigades for the purposes of this Act.
(2) A member of a
fire brigade is, when acting as such a member, to be considered to be employed
by the Government of New South Wales in the service of the Crown.
(3) Except
as provided by section 70, the Commissioner is to have and may exercise all
the functions of employer of the members of fire brigades including (but
without being limited to) functions concerning: (a) dismissal, suspension or
reinstatement of employees, and
(b) discipline, promotion and transfer of
employees.
