ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY ACT 1989 - SECT 6
General functions of Council
6 General functions of Council
(1) The Council: (a) has the functions conferred or imposed on it by or under
this or any other Act, and
(b) is to advise the Minister on all matters
relating to the entertainment industry.
(2) The Council is, before 1 January
1994: (a) to foster the development of an entertainment industry regulatory
body which is controlled by the members of that industry, and
(b) to assist
in developing the guidelines and principles to be adopted by such a body in
regulating the entertainment industry, and
(c) to report to the Minister, in
writing, on the establishment, composition and functions of such a body and
the consequential changes to be made to this Act.
