Investigation of applications
21 Investigation of applications
(1) The Council may cause such inquiries to be made as it considers necessary
to ensure that the applicant for a licence is a fit and proper person to hold
a licence.
(2) The Council may request a report from the Commissioner for
Police as to whether or not: (a) the applicant for the licence, or
(b) a
director of, or any person having a relevant financial interest (within the
meaning of section 20) in a corporation that is an applicant for a licence,
is
a fit and proper person to be the holder of a licence.
(3) The Commissioner
of Police may cause to be made such inquiries as the Commissioner considers
necessary to comply with a request made under this section and is required to
give a report of the result of the inquiries to the Council.
