ELECTORAL ACT 2017 - SECT 92
Proceedings after nomination day--no election is required
(1) If at 12
noon on the nomination day there is only one candidate for election for a
district, the Electoral Commissioner must-- (a) on the day after
nomination day, publicly declare that candidate to be duly elected, and
(b)
as soon as is reasonably practicable after that declaration-- (i) publicly
advertise the declaration in the district, and
(ii) return the writ endorsed
according to that declaration.
(2) If at 12 noon on the nomination day there
are not more than 21 candidates for election at a periodic Council election,
the Electoral Commissioner must-- (a) on the day after nomination day,
publicly declare those candidates to be duly elected, and
(b) as soon as is
reasonably practicable after that declaration-- (i) publicly advertise the
declaration, and
(ii) return the writ endorsed according to that declaration.
