Appointment of voting centres

108 Appointment of voting centres

(1) The Electoral Commissioner is to--
(a) appoint for each district as many voting centres for each election as the Electoral Commissioner considers necessary, and
(b) publish the appointment of voting centres on the Electoral Commission's website at a time determined by the Electoral Commissioner.
(2) A voting centre for a district may be--
(a) within the district, or
(b) if the Electoral Commissioner is satisfied it would enhance the convenience of a large number of electors of any district--outside the district concerned (including outside New South Wales and outside Australia).
(3) A single voting centre may be appointed for 2 or more districts.
(4) The Electoral Commissioner may--
(a) designate any voting centre as an early voting centre, and
(b) determine the days and hours of operation of the early voting centre (including whether the voting will occur at the early voting centre on election day).
(5) The Electoral Commissioner may abolish any voting centre appointed under this section. The Electoral Commissioner is to cause notice of any such abolition of a voting centre to be published on the Electoral Commission's website at a time determined by the Electoral Commissioner.
