DRIVING INSTRUCTORS ACT 1992 - SECT 23
Renewal of licence
(1) The holder of a licence may, at any time during the currency of the
licence or within 90 days after its expiry, apply to the Authority for a
renewal of the licence.
(2) The licence is renewed by the issue of a further
licence: (a) that takes effect from the expiry of the holder’s current
licence, if the application for renewal was made before that expiry, or
(b)
that is taken to be effective from the date of application, if that
application was made after the expiry.
(3) Nothing in this section gives any
force to a licence that has expired, or otherwise affects the operation of
section 24.
