If a combatant who engages in a professional combat sport contest is rendered
unconscious or otherwise appears to the promoter of the contest to be unable
to comply with section 46, the promoter must without delay arrange for a
medical practitioner engaged by the promoter to exercise, in relation to the
combatant:
(a) the functions of an examining medical practitioner under section 48, and
(b) such other functions as may be necessary in the circumstances of the case.
Maximum penalty: 500 penalty units or imprisonment for 12 months, or both.
