(1) The registration of a combatant remains in force:(a) except as provided by paragraph (b)-indefinitely, or(b) where the registration is for a fixed period-for the period currently fixed under this Part (see sections 9 and 13),unless the registration is sooner cancelled.
(2) A person whose registration as a combatant is for a fixed period may, if otherwise eligible, apply under section 8 for further registration after the fixed period or within a period during the fixed period prescribed by the regulations.
