CRIMES (SENTENCING PROCEDURE) ACT 1999 - SECT 49

49 Restriction on term of sentence

The term of a sentence of imprisonment:

(a) must not be more than the maximum term of imprisonment that may be imposed for the offence, and

(b) must not be less than the shortest term of imprisonment (if any) that must be imposed for the offence.
