COASTAL PROTECTION ACT 1979 - SECT 13
Functions of Coastal Panel
(1) The Coastal Panel has the following functions: (a) to provide advice to
the Minister on any matter referred to the Coastal Panel by the Minister
relating to the coastal zone or otherwise in connection with the operation of
this Act,
(b) to provide advice to local councils in relation to such other
matters as the Minister determines and notifies to the Coastal Panel,
(c)
such functions conferred or imposed on it by or under the
Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 relating to the granting of
development consent,
(d) any other function conferred or imposed on it by or
under this Act, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 or any
other Act.
(2) In exercising its functions, the Coastal Panel is to have
regard to the objects of this Act.
(3) The Coastal Panel may delegate the
exercise of any function of the Coastal Panel under this or any other Act
(other than this power of delegation) to: (a) any member of staff of the
Department, or
(b) any person, or any class of persons, authorised for the
purposes of this section by the regulations.
(4) Despite subsection (3), the
Coastal Panel may only delegate a function conferred or imposed on it by or
under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 relating to the
granting of development consent with the concurrence of the Minister and the
Minister administering that Act.
