Notice to coroner of inmate's death
74 Notice to coroner of inmate's death
(1) The governor of a correctional
centre must give written notice to a coroner immediately after becoming aware
of the death of any inmate who is in the custody of the governor.
(2) For the
purposes of the Coroners Act 2009 , the receipt of such a notice from the
governor has the same effect as the receipt of information of a death from a
police officer.
