Formulation of Review Council’s initial intention
67 Formulation of Review Council’s initial intention
(1) As soon as
practicable after a proposal is made that the Review Council recommend a low
security classification for a serious offender, the Review Council is (subject
to and in accordance with the regulations) required to give a preliminary
notice of its intention to any victim of the offender whose name is recorded
in the Victims Register.
(2) The preliminary notice: (a) must state that a
proposal for such a recommendation has been made, and
(b) must state that
there will be an opportunity for victims to make submissions to the Review
Council about the making of such a recommendation, and
(c) must specify a
period of at least 14 days during which a victim may lodge with the Executive
Officer and Registrar of the Review Council a notice of intention to make
submissions to the Review Council.
