Trust may acquire other land etc in certain cases
15 Trust may acquire other land etc in certain cases
(1) A trust may, with the approval of the Minister, do any of the following in
relation to the common for which it is established: (a) purchase, or take a
lease of or otherwise acquire any land that the trust requires for use in
connection with the common (whether the land adjoins the common or not),
(b)
with the consent of the owner of the land, spend trust money for the
improvement of land if the trust considers that the improvement will provide
or improve access to the common or will provide or improve facilities for the
use of the commoners,
(c) make donations out of trust money to a group or
organisation for any purpose which, in the opinion of the Minister, will be of
benefit to the common or the commoners in general.
(2) If a trust has
acquired land, whether by purchase, lease or otherwise, the trust may spend
money on improving the land or for the purpose of enabling the land to be used
by the commoners concerned.
(3) If a trust acquires land, whether by
purchase, lease or otherwise, any by-law that applies to the common for which
the trust is established also applies to that land.
