(1) A public authority may, by notice in writing, require a person to pay all
or any costs reasonably incurred by the public authority in connection with
the public authority's carrying out, under section 30, of the requirements of
an order made in respect of the person.
(2) A public authority may, by notice
in writing, require an owner of land to pay all or any costs reasonably
incurred (and not recovered under subsection (1)) by the public authority in
connection with the public authority's carrying out (otherwise than as an
appropriate person) of the requirements of an order made in respect of the
land (whether or not the order was made in respect of the owner).
(3) A
public authority may enter into an arrangement with the owner of land for the
payment of any cost under subsection (2), including an arrangement for the
periodic, partial or deferred payment of such a cost, or for the compromise of
any debt to which the arrangement relates.
