49 Case management directions by coroner
(1) Subject to any relevant practice notes, a coroner in coronial proceedings
may give such directions as the coroner thinks fit for the speedy
determination of the real issues with which the proceedings are concerned.
(2) In particular, the coroner may do any one or more of the following--
(a)
direct relevant persons in the proceedings to take specified steps in relation
to the proceedings,
(b) direct relevant persons in the proceedings as to the
time within which specified steps in the proceedings must be completed,
(c)
give such other directions with respect to the conduct of proceedings as the
coroner considers appropriate.
(3) In this section, a
"relevant person" , in relation to coronial proceedings, means any of the
following persons--
(a) any person who is appearing in the proceedings
personally,
(b) any person who is being represented in the proceedings,
(c)
any person who is acting as a representative of another person in the
proceedings,
(d) any person assisting the coroner in conducting the
proceedings.
