Co-operative may authorise person to execute deeds
48 Co-operative may authorise person to execute deeds
(1) A co-operative may, by writing under its common seal, empower a person,
either generally or in respect of a specified matter or specified matters, as
its agent or attorney to execute deeds on its behalf.
(2) A deed signed by
such an agent or attorney on behalf of the co-operative and under his, her or
its seal, or under the appropriate official seal of the co-operative, binds
the co-operative and has effect as if it were under the common seal of the
co-operative.
(3) The authority of such an agent or attorney, as between the
co-operative and a person dealing with him, her or it, continues during the
period (if any) mentioned in the instrument conferring the authority or, if no
period is so mentioned, until notice of the revocation or termination of his,
her or its authority has been given to the person dealing with him, her or it.
