New South Wales Consolidated ActsWhere an accused person is refused bail by an authorised officer or is not released on bail granted by an authorised officer:
(a) the police officer for the time being in charge of the police station at which the person is in custody, or
(b) if the person is not in custody at a police station, a police officer who has custody of the person,shall, as soon as practicable, bring the person or cause the person to be brought before a court for the purpose of having the court exercise its powers in relation to bail or for the purpose of the person being dealt with otherwise according to law.
