New South Wales Consolidated Acts New South Wales Consolidated ActsWhere an accused person is refused bail by an authorised officer or is not released on bail granted by an authorised officer:
(a) the police officer for the time being in charge of the police station at which the person is in custody, or
(b) if the person is not in custody at a police station, a police officer who has custody of the person,shall, as soon as practicable, bring the person or cause the person to be brought before a court for the purpose of having the court exercise its powers in relation to bail or for the purpose of the person being dealt with otherwise according to law.
