Powers of incorporated associations
17 Powers of incorporated associations
(1) Subject to this Act, an incorporated association has the rights, the
powers and the privileges of a natural person and, without limiting the
generality of the foregoing, has power: (a) to grant a floating charge on
property of the association,
(b) to procure the association to be registered
or recognised as a body corporate in any place outside the State, and
(c) to
do any act that it is authorised to do by any other law.
(2) The rules of an
incorporated association may restrict or prohibit the exercise by the
association of any of the powers referred to in subsection (1).
(3) An
incorporated association has the capacity to exercise its powers in a place
outside the State.
