Access to beehives to be kept clear
16 Access to beehives to be kept clear
(1) A beekeeper shall at all times keep the normal access to a beehive which
is kept by the beekeeper clear from obstructions which would prevent or impede
the inspection of the beehive by an inspector.
(2) If a beekeeper fails to
comply with subsection (1), an inspector may direct the beekeeper to comply
with that subsection within a specified period.
(3) If a beekeeper fails to
comply with any directions of an inspector given under subsection (2) within
the specified period, an inspector or a person authorised in writing by an
inspector may enter on to the land on which the hive is located and carry out
such work as will cause subsection (1) to be complied with.
(4) Any beekeeper
who, without reasonable excuse, fails to comply with subsection (1) is guilty
of an offence and liable on conviction to a penalty not exceeding 5 penalty
units.
