Explanatory note
This explanatory note relates to this Bill as introduced into Parliament.
Overview of Bill
The object of this Bill is to amend the Timber Industry (Interim Protection)
Act 1992 in order to further extend, from 31 December 1995 to 31 December
1998, the date on which that Act expires. The expiration date of the Act was
previously extended, from 31 December 1994 to 31 December 1995, by the
Timber Industry (Interim Protection) Amendment Act 1994.
Outline of provisions
Clause 1 sets out the name (also called the short title) of the proposed Act. Clause 2 provides that the proposed Act commences, or is taken to have
commenced, on 30 December 1995.
Clause 3 amends section 16 of the Timber Industry (Interim Protection)
Act 1992 as outlined above.
