SUPERANNUATION ADMINISTRATION (AMENDMENT)

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Explanatory Note relates to this Bill as introduced into Parliament)
The object of this Bill is to amend the
Administration Act 1987
to enable the current members of the State Authorities Superannuation Board to
continue to hold office until the end of March 1991. At present, the Act provides that
the current members of the Board (who constitute the Board on an interim basis)
cease to hold office at the end of March 1990.
Clause 1 specifies the short title of the proposed Act.
Clause 2 provides that the proposed Act commences on 30 March 1990.
Clause 3 amends the Superannuation Administration Act 1987 in the manner
described above.
Clause 4 provides that the terms of office of the current members of the Board
expire on 31 March 1991 despite the provisions of the members' instruments of
appointment which specify a term of office expiring on 31 March 1990.
