Explanatory note
This explanatory note relates to this Bill as introduced into Parliament.
This Bill is cognate with the Appropriation Bill 1995.
Overview of Bill
The object of this Bill is to amend the Road Improvement (Special Funding)
Act 1989 so as to vary the special 3 x 3 fuel levy in accordance with
forecasted movements in the Consumer Price Index for 1995-96. The
amendments also take account of the amendments made by the proposed
Business Franchise Licences (Petroleum Products) Amendment Act 1995
which vary the fees to be paid for petroleum licences under the Business
Franchise Licences (Petroleum Products) Act 1987.

Explanatory note
Outline of provisions
Clause 1 sets out the name (also called the short title) of the proposed Act. Clause 2 provides for the commencement of the proposed Act on
1 October 1995.
Clause 3 amends the Principal Act in order to achieve the object of the
Bill.
